It's all in the interest of transparency

Investec Private Bank's Savings Index (the 'Index') tracks interest rates on savings accounts for balances of £25,000 or above.  The aim of the Index is to bring greater transparency to the savings industry and help savers with larger balances determine whether they are receiving an attractive and fair return.

The Index shows how the average rate of interest for those accountson balances of £25,000 or above changes on a quarterly basis and how this compares to movements in the UK base rate.  The Index is based on research supplied by the financial services research company, Moneyfacts.  Best-buy tables are produced based on returns and consistency.
