Rensburg Sheppards saves old soles for Yorkshire Air Ambulance

31-Mar-2011

Staff at the two Yorkshire offices have collected over 75 kilos of shoes which will be despatched to a variety of East European, African and Asian countries and sold in second hand shops and market stalls where there is a big demand for western fashion at affordable prices.

Rensburg Sheppards has sponsored Yorkshire Air Ambulance, which operates two helicopters across the Yorkshire region, for almost three years, and has managed the Charity’s share portfolio throughout that time.

Stacey Johnson, investment manager at the Leeds office of Rensburg Sheppards (pictured far right) comments: “We are delighted to be supporting Yorkshire Air Ambulance with this superb initiative, and have had a great response from our staff located at the two offices. By collecting shoes we are physically boosting the campaign as well as raising awareness of it amongst the general public. Alongside this specific initiative, we continue to encourage our clients and associates to keep local charities front of mind when gifting shares.”

Kate Collinson, key relationships co-ordinator at the Yorkshire Air Ambulance adds: “It’s great that the staff at Rensburg Sheppards have chosen to support us through our ‘Save Old Soles’ recycling campaign, and we’d like to extend our thanks to them for doing so. It costs the Charity £7,200 each day to keep both of our helicopters in the air and recycling is a great way for people to support the YAA and help us raise the vital funds we need.”
