**In November 2003, Investec Limited implemented an empowerment transaction in which empowerment partners, a broad-based development trust and an employee trust collectively acquired 25.1% of the issued share capital of Investec Limited.

Dividend History

Ordinary Dividend Policy.

Investec intends to maintain a dividend cover of between 1.7 and 3.5 times based on earnings per share before goodwill impairment and non-operating items and after taking into account earnings attributable to perpetual preference shareholders, denominated in Pounds Sterling. Interim and final dividends will be declared and proposed in accordance with the above policy.
