Investec was a Lead Arranger on the refinancing of the 2,000MW Cahora Bassa hydro power plant in Mozambique. As a result of the transaction, the government of Mozambique increased its shareholding to 85%. Cahora Bassa has been fully refurbished and the project is underpinned by a long term PPA with Eskom of South Africa.

Investec has provided development and construction equity funding to a string of projects developed by BCI and jointly owned by BCI and Investec.
