Better management of the balance sheet

For our larger corporates and institutional clients, we also specialise in portfolio and balance sheet management.

Balance sheet management is undertaken by our Central Treasury, which is responsible for managing the liquidity, funding and residual interest rate risk for Investec in the UK.

The desk deals in wholesale money markets with its main activities centred on the G7 currencies and the Rand.

Additionally, the desk has an EMTN programme through which it issues debt instruments, as well as being issuers of certificates of deposit and commercial paper.
