Investec Young Women in Finance Conference

The Investec Young Women in Finance Conference is a three day interactive conference, designed to expose 60 highly driven young women from universities across South Africa, to successful and inspirational speakers in various industries. In addition, the delegates work on a business case which they present to a panel of judges on the last day of the conference.

Statistics show that an unjustifiably small proportion of women currently hold leadership positions in South African business. It is vital for our country’s socio-economic wellbeing that talented females are given the opportunities to excel in their professions.

This conference aims to increase awareness of the imbalances in both the student and corporate arena. Investec believes in the development of young women in the areas of strategic thinking, networking, negotiation, assertiveness and self-esteem - areas identified as impediments to the progress of women in business.

Young women must be empowered with the knowledge, skills and strategies to enable them to penetrate barriers that may inhibit their success. We also aim to instil an entrepreneurial spirit in delegates so as to further foster the advancement of well-rounded, passionate and driven future captains of industry.
