Finance businesses, concessions or assets, without using your project sponsors' credit
Our 50-strong team of professionals has extensive experience of project finance, infrastructure finance and public private partnership transactions around the world. Located in London, Johannesburg, Sydney and Toronto we provide specialist advice and finance in the following areas:
We provide independent financial advice to project sponsors, bidding consortia and tender authorities.
We offer the full range of advisory services to clients including:
We will also advise on the design and pricing of hedging structures, project documentation and legal due diligence.
We have continuous dialogue with the major sources of commercial bank, capital markets and lease finance so as to be fully aware of the latest trends and requirements.
In addition we have significant experience of procuring funding from the development and multi-lateral banks such as the European Investment Bank, KfW, Development Bank of Southern Africa and the export credit agencies.
We advise on the acquisition, refinancing, restructuring and sale of completed projects or stakes in portfolios
of projects.
We structure, arrange and underwrite bank syndication and capital markets debt on a limited recourse basis. Investec has the capability to rapidly syndicate project debt owing to its domestic and international presence in capital markets and access to commercial banks and its ability to use own funds.
We assist borrowers in negotiations with the rating agencies and monoline credit.
We arrange and underwrite equity and mezzanine for energy, telecoms and infrastructure projects, both by
using our own capital and by accessing markets ranging from private equity through to specialist infrastructure
funds and banks.
In South Africa, substantial funding on a risk and reward sharing basis may be raised in order to enable
meaningful participation by empowerment groups in infrastructure and other projects.
For the last five years the leading trade magazines Project Finance International and Infrastructure Journal, have listed us in the top 3 bank advisors to bidders ranked by deals brought to financial close in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
