{"id":13980,"date":"2019-07-15T17:09:38","date_gmt":"2019-07-15T17:09:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.capitalmind.com\/?post_type=deals&#038;p=13980"},"modified":"2022-05-16T17:43:15","modified_gmt":"2022-05-16T15:43:15","slug":"sale-of-galys-laboratories-to-eurofins","status":"publish","type":"deals","link":"https:\/\/www.investec.com\/advisory\/deals\/sale-of-galys-laboratories-to-eurofins\/","title":{"rendered":"Sale of Galys laboratories to Eurofins"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>What we did<\/h2>\n<p>Investec supported Ax\u00e9r\u00e9al &amp; Terrena during the entire sale process: preliminary assessment of potential buyers\u2019 interest to confirm the rationale of the sale process, marketing material preparation, organization of a competitive process with relevant buyers, execution support during the Due Diligence phase, valuation guidance, assistance in negotiating the deal and the legal documentation.<\/p>\n<h2>About the deal<\/h2>\n<p>The company, owned by Axereal (84% stake) and Terrena (16% stake), has been specialising in agricultural testing for more than 50 years. In addition to agronomic expertise covering all stages of the plant life cycle, Galys also offers sensory and organoleptic evaluation services to its food industry clients. It employs around sixty staff and operates several laboratories, accredited and recognised by Incograin and INAO. The two main sites are at Blois and Ancenis.<\/p>\n<p>Terrena and Axereal groups will continue to support Galys Laboratories as it grows, through a long-term commercial and R&amp;D partnership with Eurofins to include, among other aspects, developing innovative new solutions for use by cooperative members.<\/p>\n<p>This acquisition will significantly reinforce Eurofins\u2019 leadership in the agronomic and agricultural analytical testing market, upstream of food processing.<\/p>\n<p>It will grow the European footprint of the company\u2019s Agro Testing division to form a unique network of laboratories across 13 countries, bringing the skills of agronomy specialists and sampling services closer to its clients. Thanks to this acquisition, Eurofins will also be able to considerably expand the services it offers, in particular for soil, with nitrogen mineralisation analyses and the Comifer-certified Azofast
