{"id":53649,"date":"2025-06-24T17:25:55","date_gmt":"2025-06-24T15:25:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/editing.capitalmind.com\/?post_type=deals&#038;p=53649"},"modified":"2025-06-30T12:17:04","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T10:17:04","slug":"demerger-of-the-anglo-american-plc-interest","status":"publish","type":"deals","link":"https:\/\/www.investec.com\/advisory\/deals\/demerger-of-the-anglo-american-plc-interest\/","title":{"rendered":"Demerger of the Anglo American plc interest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Investec acted as a joint financial advisor to Valterra Platinum Limited (previously Anglo American Platinum Limited) on the demerger of the Anglo American plc interest in the business<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the deal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of Anglo American&#8217;s broader portfolio simplification, it announced the demerger of majority of its interest in Anglo American Platinum Limited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pursuant to the demerger, Anglo American Platinum was renamed to Valterra Platinum, a fully independent company with a well-diversified shareholder base and increased focus on strategy, commercial capabilities and capital allocation to optimise the return from its leading position in PGMs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has a well-established existing listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, which is now enhanced by a secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange following the first day of trading on 2 June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Valterra Platinum Limited (previously Anglo American Platinum Limited)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valterra Platinum is one of the world\u2019s leading producers of platinum group (\u201cPGM\u201d) metals. The company provides a complete resource-to-market service and supplies its network of global customers with a range of responsibly mined, refined and traded products, from its industry-leading resource endowment and high quality, long life asset base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valterra Platinum operates six mining operations across its two regions: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the
