The construction of the Elizabeth line will cost just short of £15bn, but the economic benefits of the Crossrail project are expected to deliver a serious return on that investment.
By the time the line is fully operational in December 2019, it will significantly reduce journey times to Central London, from Reading and Heathrow in the west, and Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. And it’s already affecting the region’s property market, as shown below.
