I work with colleagues to help ensure our clients are provided with an exceptional level of service and the best outcomes for their circumstances. Fundamental to my role is to make sure we take into account our clients' current position, their aims and objectives for the future and to help guide them through the complexities of financial markets to achieve their goals.
I joined BWD Rensburg (now Investec) in 1995 as an equity analyst, where I undertook original research on oil, industrial and utility companies and contributed to overall stock selection. In 2001, I helped to form the private client discretionary fund management department in Liverpool. I took over as head of the Liverpool office in 2016 and as regional head for our offices across the north in 2018 - and I also sit on the group's executive committee. I use my experience to mentor colleagues both inside and outside of the business and have found this personally rewarding as well as hopefully helping to develop others.
I graduated with a first class degree in history from the University of Liverpool and believe that an understanding of how history can repeat itself lends to the long term nature of how we look after client funds. I went on to pass the Securities Institute Diploma and I am also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
I am a keen spectator of most sports, an irregular tennis player and obsessive gym goer. I enjoy using my (very basic) DIY skills and gardening. I love all things Spanish, speaking the language to a point and visiting Spain regularly, but travelling anywhere in the world also excites me.
