About me

I specialise in managing discretionary investment portfolios for a range of clients including independent financial advisers, private individuals, investment bonds, pension funds and trusts. My day-to-day role involves constructing, managing and regularly reviewing client portfolios to ensure that they maximise my client's chosen objectives and meet their attitude to risk. I work closely with our research department to select appropriate investments from thoroughly researched ideas in conjunction with my own knowledge, style and investment philosophy. Finally, I regularly meet the companies and funds in which we invest and I enjoy debating with colleagues about investment markets.

Background/Experience

I am an experienced investment manager with over a decade of industry experience. I started my investment career in London working for Williams de Broë (part of Evolution Group) within an investment team managing £400m for a variety of clients. In 2012, Investec acquired Evolution Group and I joined a larger investment team managing £1.5bn. In 2019, after nearly a decade in London, I joined Investec’s Edinburgh office, where I continue to manage investment portfolios for a team with around £500m in client assets. I am a qualified Chartered Wealth Manager and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. I have a BA Honours degree in International Relations from the University of Birmingham.

My interests

I am a keen fly-fisherman, country sportsman, skier and motor-sport fan. I am married and have a young son.
