About me
I manage investment portfolios on a discretionary basis for private individuals, companies and local charities. My client portfolios include ISAs, Self-invested Pension Plans (SIPPs), onshore and offshore trusts. I make sure I understand my clients’ individual risk tolerance and investment objectives in detail and then build and monitor portfolios in line with these preferences and aims. To ensure the best possible outcome for my clients I work closely with financial planners and Investec’s in-house research team to identify suitable investment solutions, matching clients’ risk profiles and objectives to investment portfolios that will deliver for them over the years.
Background/Experience
I joined Investec straight from university initially working in the PEP and ISA administration department before moving to work with the chief investment officer and research department in London. Over two decades ago, I moved back down to Surrey to work directly with clients in the Farnham office (now Guildford) after gaining my professional qualifications. That experience has allowed me to develop very close relationships with my clients. My knowledge of their situation allows me, in tandem with my team, to ensure the best possible outcomes for my clients. I am a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (Chartered FCSI) and have an Honours degree in Biological Sciences from Durham University.
My interests
I take an active interest in keeping physically fit and enjoy watching and participating in as many different sports as possible. I am a keen golfer and member at Hankley Common in Surrey and St Enodoc down in Cornwall. If not participating myself, I take a keen interest in following our sons on the sports field and weekends are generally spent at the side of a pitch.
