About me

My priority is to address the needs of clients who wish to invest in stock markets through a bespoke investment portfolio specifically tailored to their needs and wishes. I can create a portfolio at the outset or take over the management of an existing one on their behalf, spending time discussing appropriate investment objectives and degree of risk which should be followed. In doing so their investment portfolio should deliver over the years ahead, proving to be a valuable asset in their overall wealth regime. I am a firm believer in the importance of establishing a strong working rapport with my clients which range from individuals, trusts, charitable trusts and personal pension schemes.

Background/Experience

I first worked in institutional investment management and research at The British Linen Bank which provided me with a good all round training in investment selection - the latter forms the core of professional investment management in my work for clients. I then moved to Bank of Scotland to take on the role of investment director managing a wide variety of client portfolios which further broadened my remit and experience before joining Investec in 2009.

Qualifications include:

  • Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI)
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland
  • BSc Edinburgh University

 

My interests

I am a keen gardener and good-weather walker, both of which can present certain challenges in the British climate. The joys of fresh air and open spaces are there for all to enjoy while also providing good exercise - the West Highlands of Scotland being one of my favourite areas of unspoilt scenery.
