About me

I am an investment director working in a team that looks after assets for private individuals and trusts, as well as pension schemes and charities. Additionally, I provide discretionary fund management (DFM) for a number of financial advisers across the North West. I work closely with the financial planning team in Liverpool advising on areas including inheritance tax planning and putting in place tax-efficient structures, such as SIPPs and offshore bonds, in which their investment portfolios can be managed. I am responsible for managing client assets of approximately £120 million on a discretionary basis.

Background/Experience

After graduating in 1992 with an Economics degree from the University of Liverpool and two Economic scholarships, I began my career in investment management at Tilneys (formerly Charterhouse Tilney) in Liverpool, where I qualified as an investment manager. I then spent a year in London in institutional sales for Numis Securities and later joined Investec in 2002 (formerly Rensburg Sheppards) where I became an investment director. I hold the Diploma in Financial Planning and I am a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (Chartered MCSI).

My interests

I am married to Nick, a retired GP and have a seven year old daughter. I enjoy running, cycling and spending quality time with my family. My favourite time is when on holiday, whether it is in the sunshine or skiing down a mountain.
