Sheppards Scott Pelly was founded.
1869
Williams de Broë was founded by Emile d'Eichthal.
1873
Sheppards & Co formed. Henry Rensburg, originally from the Netherlands went into business in Liverpool as a stockbroker, later forming Rensburg & Co, which became a member of the Liverpool Stock Exchange.
1997
Investec Group acquires Carr Sheppards.
1999
After numerous mergers that led to the creating of Henderson Crosthwaite Ltd, Investec acquires Henderson Crosthwaite and combines it with Carr Sheppards to form Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite Ltd. This is an amalgamation of three of the oldest names on the London Stock Exchange.
2002
Williams de Broë moves from the Alternative Investment Market to the full list.
2006
Rensburg & Co and Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite merge to form Rensburg Sheppards Investment Management Ltd, with Investec plc owning 47% of the newly merged company. Evolution Group acquites Williams do Broë plc and merges with Christows.
2010
Investec buys the remaining shares of Rensburg Sheppards.
2011
Rensburg Sheppards becomes Investec Wealth & Investment. Investec acquires Evolution plc, including Williams de Broë.
2012
Williams de Broë becomes part of Investec Wealth & Investment.
