New hires further develop Investec Fund Finance’s credentials as creative and trusted partner to private equity
Investec Specialist Bank (“Investec”) today announced the appointment of four new hires to its Fund Finance team, led by Simon Hamilton, Global Head of Fund Finance. Based in the team’s London office, Nick Rusling, Alan Macdonald, Ian Weise and Oliver Bartholomew will play a key role in the development of the fund finance team as an innovative and agile financing provider.
The appointments include Nick Rusling, who joins from Barclays’ Debt Finance team. In his previous role as Director, Nick created a number of innovative financing structures provided by Barclays and handled the management of the sales process of a book of debt to Ares in December 2015. His extensive experience in developing purpose-driven structures will be invaluable as the Investec Fund Finance team explores new ways in which it can service its clients.
Alan Macdonald joins Investec Fund Finance’s Legal Risk team from Debevoise Plimpton LLP, where he worked in its corporate finance team. Alan has over seven years’ post-qualification experience across financial law with particular expertise in leveraged and investment grade financing. His previous fund finance experience at Debevoise adds further depth to the legal risk team, which ensures that Investec can remain agile when delivering facilities.
Investec Fund Finance has also brought in Ian Wiese from Investec’s Johannesburg office, where he was a part of the Specialised Finance team for the last four years. Ian originally trained as a lawyer at the University of Stellenbosch and worked for the largest law firm in Africa, ENS, and KFML Holdings. Oliver Bartholomew also joins from Investec’s Security & Covenant Management team, with two years’ experience as a Financial Covenant Analyst.
Simon Hamilton, Global Head of Investec Fund Finance, commented:

private equity firms around the world. The growth of our team is
further proof of that. Investec Fund Finance has gone from strength to
