Investec Principal Investments is the on-balance sheet, equity investing arm of Investec South Africa.
As a strategic equity co-investor, we are a long-term partner in developing and executing on your strategy.

Direct private equity

Through our equity investment, we partner management and other co-investors by bringing capital raising expertise, working capital management, M&A and investment experience into client-driven private equity transactions and short-term equity opportunities.

BEE equity deals

Acting as principal, we are able to invest into BEE equity through Khulasande Capital, a BEE Fund in partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Trust, and/or financing client originated BEE equity transactions.

Platform investing

We invest in select private equity platforms and investment holding companies.

Strategic investments

Strategic investments include Investec’s shareholding in IEP and the Investec Property Fund.

ITI Venture Capital Partners

Investec Principal Investments is the anchor investor in an Israeli late-stage technology-focused venture capital fund, ITI Venture Capital Partners (ITI) run by the General Partner in Israel.

ITI is an entrepreneurial capital partner to Israeli founders building technology companies that aim to change the world. The fund closed at the end of January 2019 with commitments of $80 million.
