Junior Innovators Competition

Cultivating Out of the Ordinary

Investec and Junior Achievement South Africa host an annual Junior Innovators Competition which affords learners, the opportunity of preparing and presenting their innovative business ideas to stand a chance of winning funding towards their tertiary studies. The learners are hosted at the Investec Sandton offices for a week long intensive series of innovation, entrepreneurship, individual and group learning workshops.

JASA Entrepreneurial Programme is Investec sponsored and seeks to stimulate an entrepreneurial mindset and life skills among grade 10 & 11 learners.  It’s a 23 week long Entrepreneurship Academy Programme that creates an opportunity for learners to acquire practical, hands on skills to launch and manage their own small businesses.
Programme offered to:

  • 10 schools
  • 9 provinces across the country
  • Reaching 350 learners from previously disadvantaged communities
There is an annual Junior Innovators Competition, aiming to reward an individual who shows a high level of entrepreneurial potential and expose finalists to a world of entrepreneurship.
This competition is open to all learners who are on the JASA Micro-Enterprise Programme and the Entrepreneurship Academy Programmes.

People’s Innovation Choice

In the people’s innovation choice component of the competition, you are able to vote for the idea you think is the most innovative. The winner is the person who receives the greatest number of votes. Votes are limited to 3 votes per person voting
