Matthias Odrobina
Managing Director - Germany
Matthias Odrobina is a Managing Director at Investec’s European Business Advisory and a senior member of the international Technology sector team. He has 20 years of experience as a trusted partner to boards and owners on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and buyouts, with a particular focus on the industrial sector, B2B software, and business services.
Before joining Investec, he established and managed an industrial investments company for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). In this role, he oversaw equity investments in industrial tech companies with a particular focus on software, while providing strategic advice at board level in particular on M&A and financing topics. He also served as a supervisory board member for several companies.
Previously, he held senior roles at Voith Group, where he was responsible for M&A projects and played a key role in establishing the digital division. He subsequently transitioned into the role of CEO for one of the group’s high-tech business units.
Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade as an investment banker at leading institutions in Frankfurt and London, advising owner-managed businesses and private equity clients on cross-border M&A transactions.
He holds a degree in economics (Diplom-Kaufmann) from Goethe University Frankfurt and is fluent in German and English. He lives with his wife and three children near Frankfurt.
