Important information about Investec Structured Products
After 12 years Investec Bank plc has taken the decision to stop offering new structured products in the UK retail market via IFAs.
Our final range of Plans will open for investment on 15 February 2021 and close on 1 April 2021.
Are my clients’ existing Plans affected by this decision?
No. All existing Plans (including all investments into our final range of Plans) are unaffected by this decision and will continue to function as set out in the relevant brochure, including your clients’ rights with regards to encashment. We’ll continue to support all existing Plans as they continue over the coming years.
However, we won’t be offering new Plans for investment after 1 April 2021.
Clients with investments from £250,000 can still gain exposure to structured products through Investec Wealth & Investment’s actively managed Structured Product Service.
Why have you made this decision?
We've made this decision for commercial reasons. Investec is a highly liquid bank and structured products are no longer the most efficient way for Investec to raise retail funding given the efficiency of our other retail channels where we offer a comprehensive suite of award-winning general savings products. Other factors in the structured products environment, such as persistently low interest rates and increased regulatory costs, have also contributed to this decision.
Whilst Investec Structured Products is not our most efficient retail funding channel, it has allowed us to develop incredibly valuable relationships with you, our Financial Advisers, across the UK over the last 12 years. These relationships are vital to us, and our focus will be on servicing you with the best that Investec has to offer going forwards.
Investec’s core Financial Adviser services include our award-winning Discretionary Fund Management and Managed Portfolio Service on Platforms (MPS). With the closure of Investec Structured Products, our focus for the future will be on these core services.
