Our Working Capital Solutions team

Simon joined Investec in December 2016 having previously worked at Close Brothers, before becoming a founding Director of Touch Financial. More recently, Simon joined the start-up team of Amicus Commercial Finance before Investec’s acquisition in 2018. He has worked extensively in the working capital market both as a lender and as an introducer, whilst also being appointed to the board of the NACFB in 2015-16. 

Hugh joined Investec in 2019 having previously spent 13 years at Lloyds Bank in Credit, Coverage, and Lending roles. He currently leads the origination team in Investec Capital Solutions helping businesses unlock working capital funding. Hugh has been in direct lending teams including cash flow, leveraged and Asset Backed for the last 12 years, with a particular focus on working capital for the last 7 years. The ICS team is focused on supporting SME and Mid-Corporate Management teams across the UK, to release working capital to fund growth and structure corporate transactions. Hugh is a CFA charter holder and has a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from The University of Bristol.

Nathan joined Investec in 2018, taking on various roles within corporate banking. Now as Regional Sales Director for Investec Capital Solutions, he focuses on driving growth and building robust client relationships, ensuring tailored financial solutions for clients' unique needs.

With over 30 years of experience, Matt joined Investec in 2022 after 12 years at Barclays and 16 years at Lloyds. As regional director, he focuses on supporting UK SME and Mid-Corporate Management teams to release working capital for growth and corporate transactions.

Josh joined Investec in 2021, after five years with one of the UK’s largest independent invoice financiers. As a Relationship Director, Josh takes great pride in engaging with businesses of all sizes, striving to understand their unique needs and how Investec can offer an ‘Out of the Ordinary’ funding solution. Outside work, Josh values family time and enjoys playing golf.

Tom has over 17 years of experience in financial services. He worked at Barclays, HSBC, and ABN AMRO before joining Investec Capital Solutions in 2025. At Investec, Tom provides working capital and funding solutions to UK mid-market businesses, focusing on Asset Based Lending strategies.

With over 30 years in the Asset Based Lending and Invoice Finance market, Kelvin is one of the UK’s most experienced professionals in senior origination roles. He joined Investec in 2025 after 15 years at ABN AMRO, complemented by experience in private debt funds and private equity-backed funders.

Kelvin’s collaborative approach enables him to work effectively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes in diverse client’s situations. Specialising in receivables and mixed asset class funding, he focuses on Wales and the Western region while enhancing national market reach.

Arabella joined Investec in April 2024 with a Bachelor's degree from South Africa in Investment Management and Banking. She supports directors on deals, facilitates broker and advisor introductions, and actively engages in direct origination by contacting privately owned companies.

Charles joined Investec Capital Solutions in April 2024 as an Associate. He supports Sales Directors with daily operations and client onboarding. Before Investec, Charles worked in Payments and FX and holds a degree in Politics and Philosophy from The University of Cape Town.
