Early in the new millennium – after more than 25 years in my career – I found myself in a position whereby I had several company pensions, but no idea what they were, how much they were worth or how to find out.

I met someone from Investec Wealth & Investment (UK) socially, and through conversation it became clear that they could help me sort out what I referred to as my "pensions mess", which they did, by moving all my pensions into a SIPP.

Although I like to think of myself as ‘good with domestic finances’, pensions, both in terms of what they were worth and how they could be used were a mystery to me.

As time has passed, my commitment to Investec Wealth & Investment (UK) has grown substantially. I now have a much larger pension pot, as well as significant ISA investments. In addition, my wife Heather also has ISA investments with Investec Wealth & Investment (UK).

Throughout this time, I have to say that the guidance and advice I have received from them has remained consistently high, sound and productive. They have supported me in being able to take early retirement at 56, given me advice as to how to best support my grown up children as they take on life's commitments, and in managing the legacy I received following my mother's passing 2016.
