Access significant capital without liquidating your client’s portfolio. Our relationship managers can provide a range of lending options for clients with execution-only portfolios held via our custody & dealing platform. They can also lend over discretionary and advisory-based investment portfolios held with Investec Wealth & Investment (CI), now part of the Rathbones Group.
Borrowing against existing stocks and shares lets your clients release equity to fund new opportunities. You choose when and how you repay the loan, and you have the option to repay interest from your client’s Investec portfolio’s income.
Our portfolio loans offer a fast, flexible and cost-efficient way to borrow against investments. Your clients receive indicative feedback on the loan application in days not weeks. They can borrow in sterling, US dollars or euros.
How portfolio lending works

We’re regularly supporting the world’s most trusted businesses through complex capital events like management buy-outs, mergers and acquisitions.
Our local relationship managers will use their lending and property experience to design a solution unique to your clients and their ambitions.
