  • Get help with any type of foreign exchange payment, whether you want to move money overseas for investment purposes or make a payment to a third party
  • Make payments conveniently through our online banking platform or via your dedicated Private Banker

Receive funds from overseas

  • Receiving money from abroad? We’ll facilitate the efficient and convenient transfer of your funds from a foreign country into your Investec Private Bank Account.
  • Receive and keep funds in a foreign currency with our Foreign Currency Call accounts, available in US dollars, British pounds, and euros. (Only available to existing Private bank Account clients)

Order foreign currency

  • Foreign notes are available in all major currencies
  • Order your foreign currency within 60 days of your departure date
  • Order foreign currency in denominations to suit your needs (subject to availability)
  • Free delivery within 48 hours to your preferred address (subject to being within 50kms of our supplier) or you can collect at OR Tambo International Airport
  • We’ll buy back surplus foreign notes within 30 days of your return
  • You can also use your Investec Visa card overseas to pay for purchases or draw cash at any ATM displaying the Visa logo

Assistance with SARB applications

  • Get help with applications to SARB (South African Reserve Bank) to extend your Foreign Investment Allowance (FIA) once you have your Tax Clearance Certificate from SARS.

Move funds abroad

  • If you’re moving to another country, we’ll help and guide you with any exchange control matters.

Investec Financial Surveillance

  • Receive guidance on ceasing South African tax residency and the rules that apply.
