About the deal

The investment company AUCTUS Capital Partners AG has acquired the translation service providers Wohanka, Obermaier & Kollegen (WOK) and Enssner Zeitgeist Translations GmbH (together with the provider Ü-Werk).

The merger of these companies gave rise to the joint language services platform t’works (now t’works Deutschland GmbH), which has since operated as a leading group of companies in the European translation market.

Details of the transaction

  • Platform strategy: AUCTUS initially acquired the major provider Wohanka, Obermaier & Kollegen as the nucleus (foundation) of the group. The acquisition of Enssner Zeitgeist Translations GmbH followed shortly afterwards as a strategic add-on purchase.
  • Shareholding structure: As part of a succession plan, the former managing director and owner, Christian Enßner, sold 80 per cent of his shares, reinvested the remaining 20 per cent in the parent holding structure, and continued to play an operational role as managing director and in the group’s sales department.
  • Brand identity: Following the merger, the brand identity was updated. During the integration process, Enssner Zeitgeist became t’works.
