About the deal
Investec acted as the exclusive financial advisor to the two owners of Augenzentrum Interlaken and Augenzentrum Frutigen on their sale to Sanoptis.
The two sister companies offer the entire spectrum of conservative and surgical ophthalmology including elective treatments. The team of three doctors and ca. 15 support staff treat a patient pool of over 10k patients and perform 1k surgeries per year.
Sanoptis is a leading European ophthalmology group headquartered in Switzerland, with operations across six European countries. Over 5k employees and roughly 1k doctors in almost 500 locations perform 4 million surgical and conservative treatments per year.
Our role
The Investec team advised the owners of Augenzentrum Interlaken & Augenzentrum Frutigen throughout the entire M&A process until the successful completion of the transaction, including:
- Preparation of business plan and marketing materials
- Identification of potential buyers (strategic and financial)
- Market approach and realization of a competitive sales process
- Preparation and management of due diligence
- Conducting price negotiations
- Support in negotiations of the legal documentation
- Coordination of all involved parties, incl. legal and tax advisors
