Payments out of your account

Sending money within the UK

1) Sterling payments within the UK

We will usually send money using the Faster Payments service. This means that we will normally process payments within 2 hours of receiving your payment instruction. Payments might take longer to process if we need to carry out additional checks or if we are carrying out system maintenance.

Payments are made by CHAPS where the Faster Payments service cannot be used or where specifically requested. CHAPS payments can only be processed on Working Days* and cut-off times apply.

Confirmation of Payee is here

To help combat fraud (and accidentally misdirected payments), we provide Confirmation of Payee (CoP), a name-checking service that allows you to confirm the name of the person you want to pay matches the account details you provide. If your bank offers CoP, it will also allow you to check that the Investec account details you have for making a deposit are correct. Find out more about Confirmation of Payee.
