Investec celebrates Nobuhle Dlamini in her rise to the top

Investec welcomes Nobuhle Dlamini to their stable as the professional golfer wins the 2019 Joburg Ladies Open and the Investec Property Fund Order of Merit.

Today saw the conclusion of the 2019 Sunshine Ladies Tour. Since 2014, Investec has partnered with women’s golf, through the sponsorship of the Investec South African Women’s Open co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour, as well as individual sponsorships of women golfers.

“Working alongside the Sunshine Ladies Tour, these powerful partnerships have allowed us to grow the sport of golf for women in South Africa and together we have helped elevate the prize money, global competitiveness and raised the profile of women in sport which is indicative of Investec’s commitment to investing in women on their rise to the top in business, education and sport,” says Danni Dixon, Investec SA Head of Marketing.

Now in its second year, The Investec Property Fund Order of Merit awards a bonus pay-out of R100 000 to the leading player at the end of the season, an added incentive to an already well-supported and highly competitive circuit.

“Today that person is none other than Nobuhle Dlamini – a quiet and determined professional athlete who absolutely deserves all the success that comes her way. Not only does she win the award, we are further delighted to announce Nobuhle as the latest woman champion to join our Investec stable of sponsored golfers. We look forward to supporting her in her professional sporting journey and have no doubt she will continue to succeed. We are inspired by female athletes like her achieving these incredible victories, and our hope is that sports heroines like Nobuhle will continue to be female role models for younger women,” says Danni.

Having turned professional in 2014, Dlamini was delighted to receive the call from Investec:“I am so grateful for what Investec has done for me. Thank you so much for believing in me as I know that sponsorships are hard to come by. Thank you too to Investec for investing in women’s golf and supporting us women golfers especially in South Africa – you have done so much since the tour started, and it has now grown by a big margin. I am so excited and look forward to building this relationship with Investec – the future looks bright and I will continue to do my best and be successful at what I do so that I can continue to gather such great support. I hope too to give back to society as well, through Investec, as I know that they do a lot of projects through golf development which I would love to be a part of and be involved in one day soon.”

Investec also sponsors professional golfers Stacey Bregman, Lejan Lewthwaite and Nicole Garcia.
