Investec supports Bridges Fund Management on GEV Group acquisition
Investec Growth & Leveraged Finance (“Investec”) has supported Bridges Fund Management (“Bridges”) on its acquisition of GEV Group, by providing senior debt facilities.
Investec worked closely with Bridges to put in place a debt structure, to enable them to acquire GEV Group from its current shareholders and delivered the transaction in a short timeframe.
Bridges is a multi-strategy private fund manager, with offices in London and New York, specialising in sustainable and impact investing. Since 2002, the firm has raised over £1bn to invest in SMEs, properties and social sector organisations that are supporting the transition to a more sustainable and inclusive economy, aiming to drive growth and deliver attractive financial returns to investors. The firm has acquired a majority shareholding in GEV Group, a market-leading wind turbine blade repair and maintenance company that services the wind energy market in the US, UK and Europe.
Bridges has invested in GEV as an active equity partner to support future expansion, helping the business deliver on its growth plan and optimise its impact.
Investec’s Stephen White, Director, Growth & Leveraged Finance, commented:
“Impact investing has moved up the agenda for investors and market participants alike in recent years and the renewable energy sector is an area where we’re expecting to see continued appetite with firms trying to meet energy targets. We are excited to work with Bridges and the management team and support their growth plans.”
