New Head of Intermediary Services appointed at Investec Wealth & Investment

Investec Wealth & Investment is pleased to announce the appointment of John Cowmeadow as Head of Intermediary Services.

John has been Deputy Head of Intermediary Services since April 2019, when he joined IW&I from Brewin Dolphin. At Brewin he held the role of Head of Intermediary Sales for fourteen years and was instrumental in developing their Managed Portfolio Service across ten platforms. Prior to joining Brewin Dolphin in 2002, John was a Financial Adviser at RBS, having started his career at General Accident.

John’s appointment comes at an important moment in the growth of the Intermediary Services business, as IW&I invests in building its team and growing its range of services in this important area.

John takes over the role from Mark Stevens, who is retiring after a 40-year career in the private banking, wealth management and investment industry. Mark has held the position at IW&I since 2012, when he joined as part of the Investec Group’s acquisition of Williams de Broe, part of The Evolution Group plc. Mark will formally retire in June 2020, after a 3-month handover period.
