The Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS Act) 2002 (Act No. 37 of 2002) came into effect on 15 November 2002. The objective of this legislation is to ensure that financial services are rendered in a professional and responsible manner. This ensures that you, as a client, are protected against unscrupulous selling of financial products and inappropriate advice.

In line with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS), only consultants who are registered as representatives under licenses granted to Investec Private Bank, will dispense advice in respect of Investec Private Bank investment products and services.
