Investec Online FAQs

Here we've answered some common questions we get about Investec Online.

  • Am I automatically opted into online banking?

    Yes, but you need to activate it.

    When you open a banking, saving or investing account, we’ll automatically register it for online access. Once you receive your Investec ID, call us to activate it on one of the numbers below. Have your Investec ID to hand.

    These numbers are open 8:00 am – 8:00 pm UK time.

    We’ll then send you a temporary password by text to the mobile number you provided in your application.

  • What if I haven't received a username?

    When you first log in, your Investec ID is your username. After you’ve logged in for the first time, you can change your ID to a username.

    If you have an account with us and have not received your Investec ID, please call us.

  • Can I change my Investec ID?

    Yes.

    Login to Investec Online and from the menu options, choose 'Update login details' under the Profile and settings heading. Here you can change your Investec ID to a username that’s more memorable. You’ll need to enter your password to update this.

  • I’m locked out of my account. How do I get back in?

    You can be locked out of Investec Online if you've incorrectly entered your login information three times. To unblock your Investec Online profile call our Client Support Centre:

  • I forgot my Investec Online password, how can I reset it?

    Please call us on the number below, and we’ll be able to verify your identity and reset your password.

  • Can I keep important documents stored on Investec Online?

    Store and organise all your important documents, for easy access when you need them with My Briefcase. My Briefcase is your personal storage space. You can organise, manage and find your important documents in the easy to use folders. You’re the only person who can access your briefcase as it’s linked to your Investec profile.  

  • What can I do in Investec Online?

    Investec Online provides a user-friendly and secure digital banking experience, allowing clients to conveniently manage their finances, access relevant information, and conduct transactions from anywhere with internet access.

    Key features of Investec Online include:

    1. Account overview: Clients can view an overview of their Investec accounts, including their current balances, transaction history, and investment portfolio.
    2. Funds transfers: Users can initiate various types of fund transfers, such as transferring funds between their Investec accounts, making payments to other bank accounts, and setting up recurring payments.
    3. Bill payments: Investec Online enables clients to pay bills, such as utilities, credit card bills, and service providers, conveniently from their accounts.
    4. Investment management: Clients with investment accounts can access investment tools, view performance reports, and make investment decisions.
    5. Statements and documents: Users can access and download their account statements, tax certificates, and other important documents electronically.
    6. Notifications and alerts: Investec Online provides notifications and alerts to keep clients informed about important account activities, such as incoming payments, account balances, and transaction updates.

    It's important to note that the features and availability of Investec Online may vary based on the specific jurisdiction and type of account held with Investec.

  • Why can't I see my Online Savings Account in Investec Online?

    Investec Online allows our Private Banking and Wealth Management clients to log in and interact with their accounts with us. If you are a Private Banking client, you can see your Private Bank Savings Accounts in Investec Online.

    However, our Online Savings Accounts sit on a separate platform so won’t be visible. Clients with an Online Savings Account receive separate credentials to log in and view their account at https://savings.secure.investec.com/login
