team walking through a field

Being part of our local communities is important to us at Investec and every two years the Cheltenham office chooses a locally based charity to support, raising money through a variety of fundraising activities and volunteering where appropriate. The charity we are currently supporting is Suicide Crisis, which works nationally and locally to prevent suicide and runs an award-winning crisis centre in Gloucestershire. It also has a Trauma Centre for those experiencing PTSD.

A major part of our fundraising is a sponsored challenge weekend which took place in June this year, having been postponed due to the pandemic. Our team walked the length of the Wysis Way, a distance of 55 miles which runs from the river Wye in Monmouth to the source of the Isis near Kemble, a route graded as challenging by the Long Distance Walkers Association.  We were joined by family and friends who came to cheer us on and offer moral support at points along the way.

Joy Hibbins, Founder and CEO, Suicide Crisis:

"Our team helps on average 25 individuals every week and the money you have all raised will make a very significant difference."

With the many challenges posed to mental health over the last couple of years, supporting this worthwhile charity feels particularly fitting and the team were delighted to raise over £8,000.
