January saw us welcome two new graduate trainees into the Sheffield office, bringing the current number of trainees starting their careers in investment management to four. 

Like their predecessors, our new recruits, Dan Johnson and Conor Tordoff, join two experienced teams which manage portfolios for a range of clients including charities, trusts, and private clients, as well as a growing intermediary service with strong connections to the IFA, legal and accountancy community across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

Conor has a strong interest in finance and markets, having graduated from university in the United States with a degree in Economics and Finance, which subsequently led to an MSC in Financial Economics at Sheffield University. He joins us from a role in finance and banking services at the Department for Work and Pensions, where he concentrated on producing financial reports and analysis. Conor is a keen sportsman with a semi-professional background in tennis, athletics, and football, as well as being a qualified tennis coach.

Dan graduated from Newcastle University in 2021 with a first-class honours degree in Economics and Finance. He further developed his interest and experience in financial markets by gaining a certificate in Trading and Financial Market Analysis, through which he studied roles in investment banking, asset management, and trading. A further course led to Dan gaining a Bloomberg Market Concepts Certificate, which involved the detailed study of fixed income, equities, and currencies. Like Conor, Dan is a keen sportsman, having represented his county in football and combining his studies with a role as a football coach.

Since joining us at the beginning of the year, Conor and Dan are already supporting their teams as we approach a very busy time with tax year-end work for our clients.
