I am a Senior Strategy Director within the Investment and Research Office (IRO) working closely with colleagues in Research and Portfolio Management to shape the IRO Sustainability Strategy. My role involves seeking out and identifying ESG and Sustainability related risks and opportunities that will impact the activities of the Investment and Research Office. My work includes liaison internally with change and assurance functions to ensure that our business adheres to current and future commitments in this area - both from a client and regulatory perspective.
I joined Investec Wealth and Investment in August 2022 having previously worked at Investec Bank Plc in a risk management role and have 14 years financial services experience. I graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Civil Engineering and subsequently joined Deloitte in London as a trainee accountant, qualifying in 2008.
My prior experience is in risk management, primarily in Investec Specialist Bank. My most recent role focussed on the private client and corporate lending sectors. This experience has given me a solid foundation in all aspects of risk management and governance from detailed risk assessment activities through to board risk reporting.
I have two children and at weekends I cherish time with my family, these days mainly as taxi driver! I enjoy keeping fit switching between running, indoor rowing or spinning, depending on the season. I also love a good book, a recent favourite being Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.
