Deposit compensation scheme

Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited is a participant in both the Guernsey Banking Deposit Compensation Scheme and the Jersey Bank Depositors Compensation Scheme, with all deposits held either in Guernsey or Jersey. These schemes provide protection for qualifying / eligible deposits up to £50,000, subject to the applicable scheme rules and limitations. Under the Guernsey Banking Deposit Compensation Scheme, the maximum total amount of compensation is capped at £100,000,000 in any 5-year period. Under the Jersey Bank Depositors Compensation Scheme, protection applies up to £50,000 per eligible depositor, per Jersey banking group. The Isle of Man Representative Office neither accepts nor holds deposit accounts and are not protected by the Isle of Man Depositors’ Compensation Scheme.  Deposits made with the Bank are also not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme under the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000 of the UK.
