Deborah Sayagh, Private Equity Banker at Investec Private Banking said:

"The partnership highlights our commitment to supporting Norwood in raising funds for vulnerable children and their families, children with special educational needs and people with learning disabilities."

Justin King, Head of Portfolio Businesses at Terra Firma, and the former CEO of J Sainsbury PLC credited with transforming the retailer’s fortunes, will be the event’s guest speaker. He said:

“I’m honoured to be taking part in this year’s dinner. While I’ve only recently joined the private equity industry, it is clear that this is a sector which takes community responsibility and philanthropy very seriously. It is great that we are able to support a charity such as Norwood which does such valuable work with the young and vulnerable in our society.”

Newly appointed dinner Chairman, Marc Cohen, a director with strategic communications firm Kreab, also commented:

“It is a great privilege to be the Chair of such an important philanthropic initiative for the UK private equity industry, supporting Norwood, which does fantastic work helping vulnerable people in our local communities. It is a great coup to have secured Justin King as our guest speaker, and we are delighted to be working with Investec, we thank them both for their support and generosity. Last year’s dinner was a huge success but we are confident that this year will be even bigger and better.”

Last year's dinner attracted over 300 guests from over 100 different companies, including leading small, medium and large private equity funds (GPs), private equity investors (LPs), management teams and advisers.

Cohen added:

“I’m excited to be heading up one of private equity’s leading charity events, bringing together the great and the good of the industry to raise money for such a super cause. Last year we raised over £130,000 and we hope that this year’s dinner will prove even more successful.”
