New dates set for 8th Sunshine Ladies Tour season

Investec South African Women's Open 2021

New format and handsome purse attracts more international talent

The Investec South African Women’s Open will once again be co-sanctioned with the Ladies European Tour, and for the first time on the Sunshine Ladies Tour, the tournament will be decided over 72 holes. 
 
The event will be the season opener for the Ladies European Tour and the Sunshine Ladies Tour season finale.  The field will comprise 120 lady professional golfers.  
 
The flagship event of the tour will carry a prize fund of €200 000 (approximately R3.6-million).

Westlake Golf Club will host the event for a fourth consecutive year from 13-16 May. 

Investec has been the title sponsor on the Investec SA Women's Open for eight years, since 2014. 
Over and above the sponsorship of the Investec SA Women's Open, Investec awards the player with the most accumulated points over the entire Sunshine Ladies Tour, the Investec Order of Merit. This bonus prize is R100 000.

New tournament format

Meet last year's winners

Alice Hewson could not have wished for a better start to launch her professional career on the Ladies European Tour.  The 22-year-old rookie from Hemel Hempstead in England lifted the 2020 Investec South African Women’s Open title in her first start, coming from behind to triumph by a shot.

Investec Order of Merit

Monique Smit won the 2020 Investec Order of Merit. The South African not only bagged R276 000 for her joint runner-up finish, but also edged out Stacy Bregman for the R100 000 bonus prize. 
 
The 2020 Investec Order of Merit is based on a points system and the top three placed professionals on the final Investec Order of Merit will gain automatic entry into the 2021 Investec South African Women’s Open.

In order to qualify for the Order of Merit bonus prize, players must have competed in at least four (4) events in the 2020 Sunshine Ladies Tour season.
