For biometric authentication via your mobile phone, you will receive an in-app notification that will direct you to the Investec Mobile App.
In the case of a one-time passcode, a text will be sent to the registered mobile number we have listed for you. Here is a sample of the text that we send:
Do not share. If anyone calls to ask for your passcode, hang up. Your passcode is xxxxxx for payment to [MerchantName] with card ending xxxx for GBPxxxx.xx.
You will receive either notification just after confirming payment details with an online merchant that uses Visa Secure. As good practice, when you receive the notification, check that the purchase amount and merchant name are correct. We will never ask you for your code. If anyone calls you and claims to be from Investec and asks for your code, hang up and call the number on the back of your card.
