Our partnership with the MAC: an update

Last year, we announced that the Investec Wealth & Investment (UK) Belfast office had become a Platinum Friend of the MAC (Metropolitan Arts Centre). We feel it’s important that we give back to our community and so we carefully choose partners to support who embody our values. We chose the MAC based on its contribution to the cultural scene and its impact on the region.

At IW&I(UK), we value community, partnerships, accessibility, sustainability, and diversity, equality and inclusion. Similarly, the MAC lives by the motto “always for the many, never the few”. The organisation provides community outreach, affordable ticket prices, a free playroom, and subsidised travel for schools, among other initiatives to increase access to the arts, so we were confident our values aligned.

A year into our partnership, we’re proud to have built a strong relationship based on mutual respect.

Over the course of our partnership, we’ve been thrilled to celebrate the MAC’s many successes. The arts centre has been shortlisted for awards including Art Fund Museum of the Year and the Family Friendly Museum Award. We’re also enjoyed their epic programme of exhibitions, including Sharon Kelly, Korakrit Arunanondchai, and Louise Wallace.

We’re lucky to now have several paintings by Louise Wallace on display in our City Quays 3 office, courtesy of the MAC’s art leasing scheme. We will be celebrating a different local artist in this way for every year of our partnership, so do look out for this if you’re paying us a visit.
