As part of their initiative to encourage more women into angel investing, Dorset Business Angels (DBA) are running a virtual event on 18 May entitled A-Z of Angel Investing, hosted by UK Business Angels’ CEO, Jenny Tooth OBE.

Who are the Dorset Business Angels?

The DBA provide quality, private equity investment opportunities to local High Net Worth (HNW) and Sophisticated Investors (SI) and help early stage businesses find equity capital.

Their business angels are people from a wide variety of backgrounds, men and women, of all ages who invest their own money into start-up and early stage high growth businesses, in return for a share of the equity.

Encouraging more women into angel investing

Currently only 14% of angel investors are female and so DBA has committed to the UKBAA backed objective with the aim of encouraging more female investors into angel investing with DBA.

As a proud supporter of DBA, Investec is delighted to be a part of their new initiative and to join the A-Z of Angel Investing virtual event on 18 May.

Joining the panel will be Financial Planning Director, Amanda Cook who will explain how Financial Planning at Investec aligns your needs, values and personal goals with every aspect of your finances to give a complete picture of where you are, and where you can get to in the future.

Hannah Dampney, Senior Investment Director, will also be joining to discuss how she works with Financial Planners to take into consideration a complete financial situation to tailor a bespoke portfolio to meet clients exact, yet flexible, requirements and attitude to risk. If you are, or are looking to become an Angel Investor, Hannah will explain how that will be allowed for when constructing your portfolio.
