Payments into your finance account (home loan or instalment sale) from a third party or from your own non-Investec bank account must be made using the Electronic Account Number linked to your finance account.

The Electronic Account Number is an 11-digit number beginning with 7000 and is different from your nine-digit Account Number.

 

How to find your Electronic Account Number

You can find your Electronic Account Number on Investec Online or in the Investec App.

Investec Online

1. Select your finance account from the ‘Overview’ page
2. Click ‘Share account details’
3. Your 11-digit Electronic Account Number will be displayed below your nine-digit ‘Account Number’

Investec App

1. From the ‘Overview’ page, select your finance account
2. Tap the ‘Details’ tab
3. Your 11-digit Electronic Account Number is displayed below your nine-digit ‘Account Number’

Making additional payments from your Investec Private Bank Account

If you are Private Bank Account client and would like to make additional payments into your finance account, simply transfer funds between your accounts. 

Investec Online

1. Select ‘Transact’ from the left-hand menu
2. Select ‘Transfer’
3. Enter the amount you would like to transfer to your finance account

Investec App

1. Select ‘Transact’ from the bottom menu
2. Tap on ‘Transfer’
3. Select ‘Transfer between accounts’
4. Choose the account you would like to transfer funds from
5. Choose your finance account
6. Select ‘Continue’ and enter the amount you would like to transfer

Important information

  • All third-party payments, including payments made by other Investec clients, must use the 11-digit Electronic Account Number. Payments made using the nine-digit Account Number will fail
  • Each Investec finance account has its own unique Electronic Account Number
  • Faster Payments and PayShap payments are not currently supported
