Terms and conditions

Introduction

1.      This promotional competition (“Competition”) is sponsored by Investec Bank Limited (“Investec”) and is open to any person who is resident in South Africa,  has a valid ticket and is physically present at a stadium for any of the six (6) pool games during the Investec Champions Cup, except for Investec’s directors, partners, employees, agents, consultants and their immediate families.

2.      By participating in the Competition, an entrant (“Participant”) acknowledges and agrees to these Competition Rules without exception.

Period

3.      This Competition will run the Duration of the Investec Champions Cup, or until Investec provides a public notice that the Competition has ended, whichever is earlier (“Competition Period”).

Competition entry

4.      In order to enter the Competition, a Participant must enter a stadium through the turnstiles with a valid ticket and remain in attendance for any Investec Champions Cup match during the Competition Period.

Prize

5.      The prize for the Competition is R50,000 per game for each of the six (6) pool games in the Investec Champions Cup (“Prize”), to be distributed as follows:

5.1.   R25,000 will be awarded to the winning Participant; and

5.2.   R25,000 will be donated to the Promaths Bursary Fund.

6.      A winner will be required to confirm whether they agree to be a Participant in the Competition and to sign a waiver and indemnity form relating to the Prize, a signed copy of which form must be returned to Investec before such winner is announced on the relevant game day.

7.      Where the winner of the Prize is a child under the age of 18 years (“Minor”), the parent/s or legal guardian/s must provide written consent for participation, sign the waiver and indemnity form and accept the Prize on behalf of such Minor.

8.      A winner may not transfer a Prize, in whole or in part, to any other person or exchange a Prize for an alternate prize or substitute him/herself with any other person.

9.      All Prize winners are liable for any tax which may be payable in respect of the Prize.

10.   No Participant may win more than one Prize in this Competition.

Winner selection and notification

11.   A winner will be selected by a random draw process.

12.   The random draw process will take place on each game day during the Competition Period and the winner will be announced at half-time on the relevant game day.

13.   A winner must communicate his/her full details to Investec or its agent as requested by Investec or its agent. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the Prize.

14.   The draw is final, and no correspondence will be entered into with any Participant other than the winner.

Winner verification

15.   A winner must comply with eligibility criteria and requirements set out in these Competition Rules and as may be required in terms of applicable law, which may be verified by or on behalf of Investec.

16.   The winner may be required to provide contact details and a copy of his/her legal and valid identity document/passport/driver’s license/proof of residential address/valid ticket in order to be eligible to receive the Prize. By participating in the Competition, all Participants consent to the appropriate validation and verification measures that Investec may implement.

17.   Investec will only award a Prize and a Participant will only be regarded as a winner after the verification process set out in these Competition Rules has been completed to Investec’s satisfaction. Failing successful verification of a Participant, a substitute winner may be selected at Investec’s discretion.

18.   Should Investec determine that a Participant is ineligible, the relevant Participant shall not be entitled to receive a Prize and will not be compensated in any way.

General

19.   Each Participant, by participating in the Competition and providing personal information to Investec, acknowledges, expressly consents to and agrees that their personal information may be processed as set out in our privacy statement available at https://www.investec.com/en_za/legal/data-protection-statement.html.

20.   Investec will use any information submitted by a Participant only for the purposes of running the Competition. By participating in this Competition, all Participant consent to the use of their personal information for the purposes of the administration of this Competition and any other purposes to which the Participant has consented.

21.   Investec may make media announcements containing, or otherwise publish, the names and/or photographs of a winner without remuneration being payable to a winner, provided that Investec will not do so if a winner communicates in writing to Investec that he/she does not want his or her names or photographs to be contained in media announcements or otherwise published.

22.   These terms and conditions are governed by South African law. The Competition is deemed to be regulated by the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (the “CPA“). It is not intended that any provision of these Competition Rules contravene any provision of the CPA and therefore all such provisions must be treated as being qualified, if necessary, to ensure that the provisions of the CPA are complied with.

23.   Investec reserves the right to alter or amend these Competition Rules or to withdraw the Competition in whole or in part.
