Apply to get your new Smart ID or passport:

To apply for a new Smart ID card or passport, please follow these steps:
  1. Visit HomeAffairs Online. If you experience any issues with the link, Google ‘ehomeaffairs’ and click on ‘DHA – Home – Home Affairs’
  2. If you have not registered a profile yet, please do so (anyone 16 years or older needs their own profile)
  3. After logging into the website, select what you want to apply for (yourself or a minor)
  4. Complete the online application form
  5. Select the Investec Sandton office as your collection point
  6. Submit the online application form
  7. Please make payment (ABSA, FNB, Nedbank, or Standard Bank). If you only bank with Investec, you can pay on the day of your appointment
  8. Call 011 291-0909 to make an appointment (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00). Availability is limited, so please plan ahead. Walk-in clients cannot be accommodated
  9. Collections are available Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 15:30.

Investec eHomeAffairs relies on the systems of the Department of Home Affairs, including appointments, printing and delivery of documents. Should there be an issue with the system, it is likely to affect your appointment or the collection of your document.
