Apply to get your new Smart ID or passport:
To apply for a new Smart ID card or passport, please follow these steps:
- Visit HomeAffairs Online. If you experience any issues with the link, Google ‘ehomeaffairs’ and click on ‘DHA – Home – Home Affairs’
- If you have not registered a profile yet, please do so (anyone 16 years or older needs their own profile)
- After logging into the website, select what you want to apply for (yourself or a minor)
- Complete the online application form
- Select the Investec Sandton office as your collection point
- Submit the online application form
- Please make payment (ABSA, FNB, Nedbank, or Standard Bank). If you only bank with Investec, you can pay on the day of your appointment
- Call 011 291-0909 to make an appointment (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00). Availability is limited, so please plan ahead. Walk-in clients cannot be accommodated
- Collections are available Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 15:30.
