Home Affairs at Investec Sandton provides a convenient, professional service for Investec clients to get their new Smart ID card or passport. The service is available to South African citizens and recently, naturalised citizens and permanent resident holders.*

Apply to get your new Smart ID or passport:

To apply for a new Smart ID card or passport, please follow these steps:

1. Visit HomeAffairs Online. If you experience any issues with the link, Google ‘eHomeAffairs’ and click on ‘DHA’ then ‘Home’ and then ‘Home Affairs’.

2. If you have not registered a profile yet, please do so (anyone 16 years or older needs their own profile).

3. After logging into the website, select what and who you want to apply for (yourself or a minor).

4. Complete the online application form.

5. Select the Investec Sandton office as your collection point.

6 Submit the online application form.

7. Make a payment for yourself or a minor using your Private Bank Account (on the DHA site) as follows:

  • Select ‘Investec’
  • Enter your account and your ID details
  • Accept the In-app notification on your device
  • Select 'Next' on the Home Affairs site to book a time slot.

When applying for a dependent over 16 years:

  • Complete the DHA online application
  • Do not make an online payment
  • Continue to make and confirm an online booking on the DHA site
  • Payment will be made via a pay-point device at the walk-in center when you arrive

8. Book an appointment at the Investec Sandton Branch. Note that availability is limited, so plan ahead.

9. Choose a time slot.

10. Confirm your booking by selecting ‘accept’. You will be able to download your confirmation document. It’s important to bring proof of confirmation on the day of your appointment for fingerprints and photographs. 

11. Collections are from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 15:30.

Investec eHomeAffairs relies on the systems of the Department of Home Affairs, including appointments, printing and delivery of documents. Should there be an issue with the system, it is likely to affect your appointment or the collection of your document.
