Aviation Finance
I am based within Specialised Finance in the Capital Markets division. I focus on finance of corporate jets and commercial aircraft within Africa. Our team has specialist skills in structuring cross-border transactions. In addition we are able to offer pre-delivery finance and Export Credit Agency finance of commercial aircraft. We strive to be relationship-driven and are at our best when we can tailor funding solutions for our clients’ specific needs.
Background/experience
I completed my CA (SA) with Deloitte working in both the Pretoria and London offices. Thereafter I joined the Deloitte Corporate Finance team in Johannesburg where I worked on company valuations and due diligences. During my first year at Investec I gained experience in general structured finance.
Qualifications
I have a B.Com and B.Com (Hon) degree in accounting from the University of Pretoria and am a qualified CA (SA).
My interests and hobbies
As an avid traveller, I have been privileged enough to be able to visit a number of countries around the world. I’m fascinated by country’s history and understanding where they came from. My wife and I have a love for wine and try visit South African wines farms at every chance we get. Our best experiences have been to meet the winemakers which gives us insight into the people behind the wines and to understand how their passion flows into their end product.
What drives me
I’m driven by the entrepreneurial culture at Investec which allows each team to run their business as if it was their own. I like being able to structure bespoke solutions for our clients’ specific needs. As I focus on Africa I enjoy travelling which allows me to see the great potential the continent has.
