Background/experience
My career started in 2002 with me working as a chemical engineer. My 13 years in financial services includes time at Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), Standard Bank within Andisa Capital and currently with Investec Bank Limited. At RMB I traded commodities which included structuring hedging solutions for commodity producers and consumers. I left RMB in 2009 to join Andisa Capital (Standard Bank) to head up their office in Cape Town. Since 2012, I have been with Investec Bank and currently head up the Institutional Sales and Structuring business which focuses on providing fixed income and structured product solutions to our institutional client base.
Qualifications
I have a B.SC (Chemical Engineering) from UCT and an MBA from Wits.
My interests and hobbies
I am happily married with two beautiful sons. I enjoy playing golf and watching all sports. I did try mountain biking for a few years but the falls, and age have eventually taken their toll on my golf swing. My fondest memories are from spending time with the family every year on the West Coast of South Africa. I actually enjoy the wind and the rustic atmosphere and all that the West Coast provides.
What drives me
What I enjoy about this business and Investec in general is that every day presents a different challenge and being in an environment that is conducive to creating solutions is a pleasure to work in. We pride ourselves as a team in being client-led which aids to this diversity of thought.
