Mark Henson
Wealth Manager
I underwrite the financial well-being of select private clients and their families, and do so with an intergenerational wealth transfer orientation. Furthermore, I focus on Investec Wealth & Investments value proposition to a niche corporate pensions market. My view is that our role is one of a financial physician, and aim to build long-term trusted relationship with clients. Sustainability, resilience and agility are some of the characteristics or features I believe I exhibit.
Background/experience
Prior to joining Investec, I worked at Alexander Forbes consulting to some of SA’s largest pension funds. Before moving to Investec Wealth & Investment I spent 10 years with Investec Asset Management where I was most recently responsible for strategic alliances. I have served on the board for the Investec Provident Fund as a trustee since 2011.
Qualifications
I completed a BCom degree through UNISA in 1999. I then went on to become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) in 2003 and completed my Advanced CFP in 2004 where I specialised in investments. I have representative and key individual FAIS qualifications.
What drives me
At Investec we speak of a culture of ’freedom to create’ and we live it. Although Investec has grown to a large multi-national we are still innovative and entrepreneurial in the way we think and what we do.
My interests
I am a football enthusiast and avid Liverpool supporter. Prior to my career in financial services, I went for professional trials in London with Crystal Palace Football Club.
