We’d like to welcome the newest addition to our Liverpool office, Neil Turner, who has recently joined the team as an investment director. He will be working with clients here to help them achieve their long-term financial goals. 

Neil is passionate about delivering a tailored service designed around the specific needs of each individual client. Whatever your circumstances and objectives, Neil believes it is an adviser’s responsibility to understand them and offer custom solutions. 

This includes aligning a client’s portfolio with their beliefs and values. Neil is well versed in ESG (environment, social, and governance) investment, as illustrated in his recent article, The evolution of ESG investment. In cases where clients would like to consider sustainability outcomes as part of their investment strategy, Neil can help by increasing their exposure to funds focused on renewable energy or carbon neutralisation, for example. 

Neil’s recruitment adds two decades to the collective experience of our Liverpool team. Before joining Investec, Neil spent over 20 years at the investment management firm Blankstone Sington, managing discretionary and advisory services. He held the position of chief executive for over four years, after joining the company as a trainee investment manager in 1999 and working his way up. 

In addition, Neil is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and holds the Securities Institute Diploma, so clients can feel confident they’re in highly qualified hands. Carl Cross, regional head for Investec Midlands and North, says: “Neil is an extremely experienced professional who will make a meaningful contribution to our growth in Liverpool over the coming years.”

Neil grew up on the Wirral, where he still lives now, with his young family. Outside of work, he spends most of his time with his 18-month-old twins. When he has free time to himself, it is often spent playing golf, as he is a member of the Royal Liverpool Golf Club. He’s passionate about sports and holds a season ticket for Everton.
