About me
My role is to manage portfolios of global investments and relationships for private individuals regarding their taxed portfolios, ISA's, personal pension funds and charitable trusts. I also have experience in managing charities. The investments I predominantly work on include: cash, fixed interest, equities, commercial property and alternative assets such as absolute return funds, hedge funds and infrastructure. A greater emphasis is now given to environmental, social and governance issues.
Background/Experience
Since I started in the City, I have always worked in the investment management industry. My early years training were at various firms including Seymour Pierce, Kleinwort Benson, Kitcat & Aitken and Henderson Crosthwaite, however, the majority of my career has been with Investec. Although markets are always changing the relationships with my clients have remained the consistent theme. Trust can take years to build but be easily lost. I am a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment and have held other roles across Investec including recruitment, mentoring and the Detriment Committee.
My interests
I have four children who occupy a large part of my non-working life, as well as being a keen skier and enjoying opera and music. I am involved with a charity in London which manages a youth club, and I am an active member, and sit on the investment committee, of the Merchant Taylors Livery Company. I also have expertise as a Trustee of a large estate in England and Scotland which encompasses residential, commercial and agricultural property and investments.
